Carin Hillman-Varma
1.If you were famous what would your stage name be?
I love travel, new friends and learning about their lives, loves and values. I thrive in any environment where I can promote my charity Ovarian Cancer Australia. The international pageant is a dynamic forum in which to grow emotionally and professionally, sharing and hearing eachother’s stories. There’s nothing like it.
2.If you would attend a celebrity wedding which, would it be?
When I was pregnant an ultrasound revealed abnormalities in my right ovary. After weeks of testing I was given the all-clear. However, reflecting on my feelings of fear and helplessness has meant achieving a positive future Ovarian Cancer Australia has become the force behind my campaign as their official Ambassador.
3.What is the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?
I enjoy boxercise, pilates, horseriding, and the iconic Sydney surf! Chasing after my 3 year old Daughter Sahara has kept me pretty fit, and a conscious effort to ‘use the stairs’ is something I’m implementing whenever I’m shopping or at university. I love hot chillies and will try ANYTHING once.
4.What is the most random fact you know?
Compromise. I take an example from my own experiences; “Sure honey, you can give the three year-old double choc-chip biscuits for afternoon tea, and while I’m at my Pilates class you can ‘mind’ her while she swan dives repetitively off the couch onto the dog’s bed.” Compromise is powerful.
5.What is the one thing you’ll never do again?
Shoe addiction! I stash new shoes in my car and check the coast is clear before sneaking them up to my closet (not before disposing the professionally crushed shoe boxes in the recycling bin and concealed them with newspapers) It’s quite disturbing what I’ll do to get away with it.
